MANILA, Philippines — Manila Mayor Isko Moreno on Thursday announced that he has advised the Manila Police District (MPD) to prevent mobs, vowing to “maintain peace and order” in the city.
“Matatanda naman na sila (They are already old). You are legally bound by your actions, violation of civil disturbance, violation of rights of any citizen,” he said.

This comes after the People Surge National Alliance of Disaster Survivors, along with environmental groups earlier in the day vandalized St. Gerrard Construction owned by Curlee and Sara DIscaya in Pasig City.
“I will not allow disturbing, destroying offices of government and particularly, allow to destroy the peace of any individual residing in the City of Manila," he said.
Domagoso said he instructed MPD Director Brig. Gen. Arnold Abad to prevent any further escalation of unrest and will not tolerate any form of mob rule in the city.

In response, Jonila Castro, a member of the People's Surge, told the Manila Times that “Mayor Isko Moreno’s recent statement against what’s called 'mob rule' in Manila appears to stem from fear among the privileged few who have never experienced the hardships faced by the majority.”, This news data comes from:http://rsaa-twq-bbv-ap.gangzhifhm.com
Castro adds that most perpetrators of crimes in the city were rarely brought to justice, leaving collective action as the only option for many frustrated residents.
